FOLLOWING THE POET LAUREATE...COME SEPTEMBER ...

Another special reading by Poet Laureate Nils Peterson awaits us at the Los Altos Public Library at 13 S. San Antonio Road, Los Altos, CA 94022, on September 18, 2009, at 7:30p.m.

The upcoming performance is a fabulous must-see event and truly one-of-a-kind in Silicon Valley. Poet Nils Peterson, will be reading poems set to music—classical music brilliantly performed by Maureen Draper. It has been said that these two artists have performed together several times, “not as prima donna and accompanist but as inseparable aspects of a single piece.” The Professor mentioned to his friends,“all of the poems will be about music and my friend will play pieces that somehow sing back to the poems.”

The newsletter from the Friends of the Library at http://losaltoslibraryfriends.org/ announced that the two artists have collaborated on numerous occasions in the past, and the evening promises to be a very special one for those members of the community who would like to meet Professor Peterson and learn about his poetry through a reading of his selected works. The piano counterpoint promises to bring a very warm ambiance to the evening. It will all take place in a setting new for public events in the library, near the large windows giving onto the apricot orchard. The public will be welcome and refreshments will be served.
